This photo was taken from the top of the driveway when we arrived for the first time in Feb of 2004...The old trailer had been the home to Hubby's Great Uncle, the final family member to live on the property before we moved here a couple of yrs after he passed away...He is still our neighbor as he is buried in the family plot that shares a border with our 5 acre parcel.
Following are some then and now photos taken from the same spots in the yard one year apart...

Congratulations, Kelsie! What a wonderful dream come true, I'm sure! I am certain your hubby's ancestors would be very pleased. Your home is the very home I have always dreamed of. I did a post a couple of years ago and it was this same design! I love it! I don't think we will ever build now at this stage of our lives but this is the home I have always wanted; love the overhang! I'm very happy for you!
Blessings,
Sandi
Happy one year anniversary Kelsie!

Your home is lovely, and what a blessing to have it sit on the family's property. Great pics showing how far it has come. Happy Anniversary. Hugs, Marty
Congratulations on much hard work accomplished! Your home is lovely.
What a great story and how you built your lovely home on that family property. Thanks so much for sharing this at my party.
What a wonderful way to keep the family journey! Things with a history behind them are always much more lovely just as your home!
How wonderful to be able to own property that was homesteaded by your family. Your house is very pretty and looks like it has always been there.
