Summer is here....

According to the calendar Summer has arrived...Between you, me and the fence post, Summer arrived in FL over a month ago...

This morning I braved the heat (already in the 90's by 10am) to go fill the paddle pool with water for our ever thirsty bee invaders...and as I turned around I got a glimpse of how pretty the front flower bed is looking in the morning sun despite the drought...Obviously the hours in the evening spent walking around with the garden hose are paying off...

So I ducked inside and grabbed the camera and braved the heat again to snap just a couple of quick pix to share with yall...after all it has been a week or two since you have seen the garden as well...

Click to enlarge images to get a good look-see

The old dog Nadia sitting by the front door was not co-operating and refused to move for me to take the photo, so what can you do...smile for the camera Nadia...

Still no garden path or grass but the flowers along the front of the porch are filling in nicely...Still can't believe how great the gate turned out...I can hardly believe it is mine :)..You might also notice I have re-arranged the porch furniture since I last shared photos of the front of the house.

Bachelor Buttons are blooming here and there...So proud as I started these from seeds this year.

A lovely pink Zinnia that I also started from seed...It seem to take them forever but now they are putting on a wonderful show and seem to be thriving in the heat...

Can't remember the name of the succulent, but love the pretty orange blooms..but you have to look in the morning, by lunch time they are tucked away into buds again...

Closer look at the porch and garden bed...the Vinca are volenteers from last yr and are just lovely with a random mix of the different colors...Ginger the cat is hiding under the plant shelf...I am looking forward to having time one day to enjoy a little afternoon tea at the bistro set...maybe this fall when the weather cools down?

Blessings Kelsie

Summer didn't get here in Wisconsin yet, it's cold and rainy today. I sure wish we could send some rain to those who need it so badly. We really could use some sunshine.

Your garden is doing very well, it's apparent you're taking wonderful care of all of your plants in the high heat and drought. Love your decorating, too!

The flowers are so pretty!
I understand about the heat. Suppose to be 101 at least again here today.
(Central Georgia).

Hope you get to enjoy your bistro set(which I just love!) before fall.
Have a great day.

Your front porch does look great! I too love your gate. Your unkown plant is portulaca, very easy to root and after the flower fades there will be little seed heads and when you touch them they look and feel like pepper.

Pretty porch! My bachelor's buttons didn't last as long as yours. They've bloomed and gone here in South Carolina.

Your garden is lovely despite the heat. We had rain all day yesterday, after more than a month with none-thank the Lord. Our city water turns every thing yellow when I have to water.

Great job on raising those flowers from seeds you saved! Everything is lovely. I went to Florida for the first time this past October. The weather was perfect! I can't imagine living in heat year-round though. I guess you get used to it! :)

Your flowers are so pretty, so neat to start them from seeds. You have a cute front porch. We are having hot days in Texas, so I know what you are going through with the heat.

Everything looks beautiful! You certainly have put some work into making this look great, especially with the heat and lack of rain.

Beautiful porch and your gate is perfect! It looks so peaceful I could sit and have a glass of lemonade with you. I'll try and send this thunderstorm your way. I'm just hoping it doesn't hail. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and flowers.
