Sara's own room...

With the summer weather already arriving here in FL, it is getting too hot to do much outside so I am turning my attention back to the inside of the house...Even though because of her sleep issues lil Sara still sleeps in a toddler bed in our room, I thought it was time to start working on creating her a proper big girls room...This will also help get the toys out of the family room.

These are my starting point...The prints are of pages from one of her May Gibbs, Bush Babies books..I asked her to show me her favorite pictures, then scanned and printed them on textured "ivory" paper...The photo frames I had already, but they contained floral prints and were gold...I painted them with "Ballet Slipper" pink spray paint and then scruffed them up...

We removed all the boxes of stuff we had stored in the room and guess what...Lil Sara could not wait to try out her new BIG BIG bed...

We have a long way to go...Wish I had a my BFF Chele here to help...But alas she has to work...Oh and lives on the other side of the world.

Blessings Kelsie

I love those prints and the soft pink color of the frames! Maybe you should do a soft, neutral room with pops of pink! Good luck!

Love the black swallowtail butterfly, I know Sara was thrilled to see it... She looks like a brave girl getting all wired up for her sleep study. Aren't you proud that she wanted to get into her new big girl bed? I love how you made the scans of those prints!

Kelsie,
I never had a little ...BIG... girls room to decorate! How exciting!!! Those prints are adorable. Seems as if you're on to something by having lil Sara show you what she liked!!! Keep your progress coming. I'll be waiting with anticipation!
Fondly,
Pat

The little ones are always so excited to grow up. The prints are lovely. I was just over at Teresa's @ Our Southern Country Home & Farm, & saw the lovely rooster print you sent her. That was so sweet, but then Teresa is also a super sweet person. You do wonderful work.
