Mother Daughter Brunch

While lil Sara was at Day Care last Wednesday, I took the opportunity to have a nice quiet brunch with my eldest daughter Mic (now 18yrs)...It was bitter sweet spending this time with her as she moves to Orlando in just a few short days and I know how much I will miss her and being able to spend time with her each day.

We went to the Suwannee Rose Cafe, which is also the entrance to the Suwannee Valley Quilt Shoppe...Both as I mentioned in my previous post about the vintage sewing machines, are housed in the old Coke Factory building on Main Street Trenton FL.

Inside is totally charming and they have married the old and new parts of the building beautiful...My only complaint was the hot tea was simply "hot" water from a pump thermos on the side board and a selection of tea bags. The water really was not hot enough to get the leaves brewing...I might mention this on my next visit...Plus I would really have liked to have had the option to order tea for two and had a teapot on the table.

The desert case will have your mouth watering in just seconds...The cakes are all baked in house and you can order by the slice or an entire cakes for those special occasions..

This is my beautiful daughter, a young lady getting ready to go out and conquer the world...I am so proud of her and thank God daily he lets me be her mum...I did get another photo of her smiling but decided I like this one better because she looks so grown up in it.

I was going to share with you the lovely chicken salad croissant I had for brunch, but I was so hungry I ate it before taking a photo...I ordered it with the broccoli salad as my side and OMGoodness it was delish, it had dried cranberries and pine nuts in it.

We ordered a slice of Chocolate Torte for desert to share...This is my half...They actually took one of the large "slabs" from the desert cabinet and sliced it in half for us...

After we finished all this food we needed to walk it off so visited the textiles in the quilt shoppe and then headed over to the ice house where those lovely sewing machines were....I will share more images of both places in later posts.

Oh I should mention I had Traditional Irish Tea and Mic chose English Tea Decaf

Blessings Kelsie

Kelsie,
Cherish those "stolen moments"! Mic is a lovely lady. Had she worn lace she'd have looked very Victorian!
Just remember Mic. . .when you're all packed and ready to go. .. turn and wave goodbye to Moma, smile. . .and dear, . . "Take Jesus with you!"
Fondly,
Pat

Oh such precious moments and memories to wrap around your heart when she is gone. Such a lovely young lady, and I know you will miss her and she will miss you too. It's so hard when they move away. God Bless. Hugs, Marty

What a lovely tea date you had with your daughter. The food sounds yummy and the desserts looked decadent.
Making tea memories with our daughters is a special time; I'm now making mine with granddaughters.

Hi Kelsie,
isn't that amazing, the kids start so tiny for a long time and then it seems to be a very short distance and they are upgrown and start to discover the world. You can be proud about your daughter and she will remember you always and certainly she will come back from time to time. Today the world is very small via Internet. I wish you both all the best. How nice to share a tea time together before her trip starts.
Greetings, Johanna

Hi, Special days with our daughters are memories we hold deep in our hearts, no matter how old they are or how far from home they go. My daughter is 37 today. I wish you daughter luck in Orlando. I am South of you, Largo, on the penisula across from Tampa, lol. BTW those desserts are huge and make my mouth water. Hope it was as decandent as it looked. So yummy. Nice meeting you as this is my first time at a party.

Mic is a lovely young woman. How nice that you could spend this time together and make a few memories just for the two of you ... even if the tea wasn't what it could have been. Sounds like the food was good! Happy Tea Day!

I can so relate to your post today as my little girl is far away (700 miles!) and I miss her so much. Letting go is hard but it's the goal! We've prepared them and know God loves them even more than we do - He will provide and protect. Your special tea time looks lovely and I know it will be a fond remembrance for both of you.
God bless,
Lynn at Cottage and Creek

Hello there Kelsie,

How heartwarming and touching your post is this week! ~ I'm delighted that you could cherish this time with your precious daughter and also that although your heart longs for your daughter's company, she will return and share new precious memories in times to come!

Thanks so much for sharing this inspiration with all of us dear lady!

..,I love the yummy looking, mouhtwatering food, both savory and sweets

.., and yet, (I also agree that boiling hot water, made from cold, fresh water for brewing tea, preferably with high quality loose leaf tea leaves, steeped 'just so' in a tea ball, diffusor); is the only optimal way to go for the best tea experience..,

Thanks so much for sharing the weekly; 'Tuesday Tea Time In Blogland' experience with all of us for, TTTT and also for the 66th, 'TUESDAY TEA FOR TWO'...,Fun!

Have a marvelous week!!

Cheers and hugs from Wanda Lee

Oh my! A tea cafe with a quilt shop! This sounds like heaven to me.
It looks like you had a lovely time with your daughter.
I can't tell you how many times I have had a delicious dish set in front of me that I fully intended to photograph, only to wolf it down before I remembered! Lol!
Thank you so much for sharing with us.
Do tell them about the "hot" water, I am sure the owner would like to make it better.
Hugs,
Terri
