Quickie Greenhouse.

We have another frost coming tonight so we build a quickie mini greenhouse around our green peppers since they are still loaded with fruit and flowers..

So happy to finally see my gorgeous chippy windows being used....Added such a fun element to the front yard (yes my peppers are in the front garden lol)....Maybe come next summer we might actually build the real green house with them.

  1. Very cute! I love those windows. I'm sure your "for real" greenhouse is going to be gorgeous, because honestly it's beautiful just like it is. You'll have happy little peppers too!

  2. I like that ideal. I bet your peppers like it even better. What a great thing to do in a pinch.

  3. What an awesome greenhouse! Will it be portable too? I'm going to have to advertise on Craig's list for some old windows...

  4. This is a great idea! I've never thought of that before and goodness, gracious, we have windows aplenty stashed around here.

Your real greenhouse is going to be beautiful; this temporary structure is beautiful already!

  6. Well you smart girl, you! What a clever idea. We didn't cover our pepper's, but oh my, we got plenty before the frost got them. Hubby did plant some tomato plants in the fall garden so that we cold have fried green tomatoes. He made him a plastic greenhouse, but it didn't work out because of the wind. We need to live closer so that we can farm and can together :)

  8. Once again I am just loving the tour of all the gardens that have linked in to my little party! I am so excited to visit each and every post...they are all so inspiring and I am NEVER disappointed! The creative gardens and colorful displays that I am lucky to see are inspirations that I would never have found had I not found each of the gardeners I see online! Thank you so much for sharing your garden with my Friday Flaunt this week...I do hope you will link in again soon!
This post is being shared on my Tootsie Time Facebook page too just so you are aware.

  9. Kelsie,
Creativity! Hope you saved the peppers! Even in it's rugged, rustic state...the windows are becoming the greenhouse @ Our Country Home!
    Fondly,
    Pat

  10. Fun and creative way to protect your peppers. I hope you'll get the windows transformed into a permanent structure before next hurricane season.

  12. I like that! I have a PILE of old windows in the garage to build a greenhouse with. It will probably be in a few years, though, I have enough building on my plate right now!

I'd love to see yours if you build one!
