I named him "Cracker Jack" after the caramel popcorn candy!!! Enjoy! We no longer have the goats, but we do have 20 quail, all stages of chickens, two cats and two dogs, at this time.We try to expose the grand children to things they would not otherwise be around.Sue from Ky.https://www.blogger.com/profile/06555815218871299696noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1199143625978174720.post-60590840348230749572011-07-28T09:18:38.253-04:002011-07-28T09:18:38.253-04:00He is darling. Goater-Goat (I know, original name, lol) was a wethered, dehorned pygmy of some sort, about the size of a cocker spaniel dog and was as cute as the dickens. I thought he'd be happy grazing on our pasture out back, but he cried and carried on so much (I think he missed the herd he had grown up with) that we ended up keeping him up by the house in a small penned enclosure. When they say goats are sure-footed, they're not kidding; whenever he would escape from his pen he was leaping about on the stone walls and munching on hostas and any plants he came across. He also had a taste for foam rubber, apparently, because one day I wasn't watching him close enough and he got out and ate the seat right off our old lawn mower. It was torn in one spot and he literally chewed up all the foam rubber. It didn't affect him one bit! My laundry on the washlines was fair game, too. I used to take him out on walks with me and the neighbors thought it was a hoot. He went home to be with the herd for the winter, we had him for four months. One thing I will say for certain, there were no dull moments when good ol' Goater Goat was here.Karenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18368318730124533690noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1199143625978174720.post-12903107943939585162011-07-28T08:47:41.081-04:002011-07-28T08:47:41.081-04:00Oh how adorable!!
